WHY IS VITAMIN C ESSENTIAL FOR SKIN AND WHAT ROLE DOES VITAMIN C

Dear ASPA friends & clients, At ASPA we are very big on use on vitamin C topically as well as the nutritional supplement. Here is why we highly recommend you to include vitamin C serum in your weekly skincare routine as well liposomal vitamin C in your daily nutritional uptake. Collagen formation Studies indicate that vitamin C is required for the manufacture of the  collagen and stabilise the messenger molecules that encode proteins for the repair of damaged skin. So not only does vitamin C enhance stability of the structure of skin, it also enhances its repair process. Photo-protection UV light exposure decreases the vitamin C content within skin and therefore exposure to the sun suggests greater vitamin C will need to be replenished. So Vitamin C should be worn in the summer months, followed by a high factor SPF.  Protects against and treats skin prone to pigmentation  Vitamin C visibly brightens and improves an uneven skin tone. Vitamin C has also been shown to inhibit the synthesis of melanin, skin’s pigment. It does this through a variety of mechanisms and so could prove to be valuable in the treatment of melasma and skin prone to pigmentation. Photo-damage, fine lines and wrinkles Ageing of skin can be thought of as two processes; natural ageing caused simply by the passage of time and environmental ageing as a result of pollutants, UV radiation and lifestyle factors. Observational studies have found that increasing vitamin C intake from the diet resulted in better skin appearance and less wrinkling. Topical applications of vitamin C for 12 weeks were shown to decrease wrinkling, reduce protein fibre damage, reduce roughness of skin and increase collagen production. Dry skin Many people will experience dry skin at some stage in their lives. The effects of vitamin C are not clear however increasing dietary intake of vitamin C has been correlated with a decreased risk of dry skin. Studies indicate that vitamin C enhances the production of barrier lipids, called ceramides, which protect skin against water loss.   Super Glow Serum  ALTRIENT Vitamin C Supplement Kind Regards, ASPA Team

The Unknown Story About Bakuchiol

Daily Support Oil

We love good skincare formulations which contain quality ingredients! Let’s talk about our favourite ones and we will start with Bakuchiol. It is so-called natural alternative of retinol and is an interesting and rising ingredient. Who is it for? All skin types and skin concerns. How to use it? Anytime, day and night. Pairs well with: Retinoids, Niacinamide and Peptides. Bakuchiol is safe to use for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. You can use it on your body as well. If you are prone to having eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis or sensitive skin, Bakuchiol will come to the rescue! You can use Bakuchiol around the eye area. The skin on the eye area is thinner than any skin on the rest of your face, using the gentle Bakuchiol is safer for any skin type. It is safe to use twice daily. Unlike retinol, Bakuchiol can be used twice daily since it is a plant extract and does not have any photo sensitive compound. Over the last 3-4 years, many studies have explored the benefits of Bakuchiol and its synergistic effects when combined with other ingredients like retinol, vitamin C or salicylic acid. It is becoming increasingly clear that, much like famous Retinoid and Niacinamide combo, we may have another perfect pairing for achieving brighter, smoother skin. Instead of focusing solely on increasing the percentage of a single ingredient like Vitamin A (retinol), synergistically paired ingredients are in a way allowing us to provide a boost in benefits without the drawbacks of high concentrations of a single ingredient (irritation, flakiness and erythema). In our Daily Support Oil we paired Bakuchiol with Retinyl Palmitate as well as the selection of cold pressed, organic, non-inflammatory oils. Here is the list of the multifinctional benefits of Bakuchiol: – potent skin brightener – fades hyperpigmentation – boosts firmness, elasticity – smoothens fine lines, wrinkles – antioxidant -antibacterial -antimicrobial – anti-inflammatory -anti-acne -gentle and non irritating In short, a rising star! The same benefits we could add to Retinyl Palmitate which is in short, the original rock star! However, when combining Bakuchiol and Retinyl Palmitate in a same product the result is the combo for enhanced results: – boost overall brightening – boost anti-acne benefits – boost the stability of formulations – reduce the risk of irritation, flakiness and erythema Have you already tried our Daily Support Oil?
