Neck Treatments at ASPA Beauty Den Haag

Why is Your Neck Ageing Faster Than Your Face? 1. The neck has fewer underlying support structures, such as bone and muscle, than the face. This lack of structural support makes the neck more susceptible to gravity’s effects, causing it to droop and lose firmness. 2. The skin on the neck is thinner and more delicate than that on the face. 3. It has fewer oil glands and less collagen, which means it’s naturally more prone to dryness, sagging, and wrinkles as we age. 4. We often skip sunscreen on our necks or neglect to apply anti-ageing products here, it can be even more vulnerable to damage. 5. Our necks are constantly moving—whether it’s turning our heads or looking down at screens. This repetitive motion contributes to the formation of lines and creases over time. Effective treatments to address neck ageing at ASPA Beauty   PRX-T33 & Microneedling Treatment Dual Action for Texture and Tone: While microneedling refines skin texture by tightening and smoothing scars and fine lines, PRX-T33 brightens and evens skin tone. Together, they address multiple skin concerns in a single session. The practice of microneedling creates microscopic wounds on the surface of your skin. This causes your body to deploy a healing response, stimulating collagen and elastin production. As a result, you may see your skin appear fresher, younger, and smoother. Yes, PRX-T33 is known for its skin-tightening effects. The treatment stimulates collagen production, leading to firmer and more elastic skin, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Click here to book.  T- Shape Treatment This is a non-invasive RF technology designed to stimulate collagen production and tighten the skin. By using radio-frequency, laser and vacume suction, T Shape targets the mid-dermal tissue layer, where collagen fibres are abundant. This promotes natural collagen production, leading to firmer and smoother skin over time. One of the significant benefits of T Shape is that it requires minimal downtime, making it an excellent choice for people seeking noticeable results without undergoing surgery. Click here to book.  IPL Treatments IPL treatments, such as fractional laser resurfacing, are highly effective for improving skin texture, tone, and elasticity. By creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin, lasers stimulate the body’s healing processes, leading to new collagen formation and skin rejuvenation. Laser treatments can result in some redness and swelling, but the results are often worth it, offering smoother, firmer skin on the neck. Click here to book.

Layering Your Skincare

Here we would like to share with you 3 simple tips to enhance your routine (and your glow)! 1. Think thinnest to thickest  Thicker, oil based formulas and creams can create a barrier on the skin (which is what makes them so nourishing), so applying your thinner, water based products first will allow them to absorb more effectively. TOP TIP: After cleansing, start with your serum and finish with your cream and SPF. INTENSIVE SERUM  2. Damp skin is more permeable than dry skin Applying your serum to your damp skin will help draw water into your skin and supercharge hydration. TOP TIP: Try misitng your face with hydration spray before applying your serum. CLINISOOTHE+ 3. Finish your morning routing with SPF (all year round) Your SPF should always be your final step to ensure adequate UV protection. TOP TIP: Applying make up can move your skincare around, so make sure you give your SPF time to set in before starting your make up routine. HELIOCARE SUN PROTECTION  If you are looking for more personalized skin tips, we offer Skin Analysis treatment at ASPA. Looking forward to see you at ASPA soon!

In addition, it is also perfect for revitalizing the skin of your body and face. It contains the combination of four technologies in one device, the T-SHAPE 2: Bipolar radio frequency, LLLT laser, vacuum suction with different dynamic pulses and mesoporation. Tips for Managing Acne This Summer

If you suffer with acne, you may notice things get worse in the summer. Warmer temperatures increase our skin’s oil production, and this, combined with sweat, make up and sunscreen application, causes clogging within the pores, leading to breakouts. We wanted to share, in a bit more detail, some of our top tips for preventing breakouts this summer… 1. Clean twice a day your face by using the face cleansers suitable for your skin. Use singe cleanse in the morning and double cleanse in the evening. Always use face cloth in your cleaning routine. Use Clinisoothe+ as the part of your cleansing routine. 2. Ditch oil based moisturiser- use oil free moisutriser only such as Hydrogel. 3. Use the correct form of vitamin A to increase cell turnover and improve breakouts, as well as treating skin texture. It is safe to use in summer, just be strict with SPF! 4. Use oil-free SPF that provde broad-spectrum protection. We recommend Heliocare products. 5. Go easy on ice creams- sugary or high-glycemic food cause a spike in insulin levels, which increases oil production. 6. Opt for oil-free, mineral make up such as Jane Iredale to keep congestion at bay and prevent breakouts. 7. Use a cleasning clay mask such as Miracle Mask by Hydropeptide– apply each evening when the weather is hot to treat and prevent breakouts. Clearing acne is one of our obesssions at ASPA and if you are interested in finding more information and a treatment plan to keep your skin clear during summer, get in touch to find out more. What is LED red light therapy?

Very often at the end of your facial at ASPA we like to use LED light therapy. This time we would like to inform you a bit more what is the main purpose of this treatment. LED red light therapy is a treatment for improving skin texture and softening lines and wrinkles using light from LED bulbs. Treatment with red light involves nothing more than relaxing for around 20 minutes in the gentle glow from a face mask studded with small LED bulbs. LED red light therapy is one of several forms of LED therapy, including LED blue light therapy for clearing bacteria, yellow light for improving the communication between skin cells, and near infra-red light for boosting collagen production. How does LED red light therapy feel? It feels like nothing is happening. It might even be a touch boring. The first time I tried it, years ago, I thought I was having my leg pulled. Seriously, how could this be good for my skin? But that was before I learned about the remarkable body of research that has piled up in favour of ‘photobiomodulation’, as light therapy is more properly called. What does LED red light therapy do? The red light has a healing effect on the skin and promotes the growth of collagen. This is one of the gentlest ways of persuading your fibroblasts to produce more collagen, which makes it understandably popular. What red light therapy does is trick the body into thinking that there has been a wound in the skin. Then the skin releases growth factors and stimulates collagen growth, which is what the body does when it needs to repair the skin, so you get younger-looking skin. What makes it so good for improving skin texture is that, when you have newer, healthier skin cells being produced, they can do their job more efficiently. They absorb fluid and hold onto it better than old, damaged cells, so they are fuller, which plumps up the skin, makes it feel smoother and reflect light better. That’s why periorbital rhytids (aka crow’s feet wrinkles around the eye) improve dramatically with red light therapy. Are there any side effects to LED red light therapy? Not really – LED red light therapy is considered not only safe but also painless. LED red light therapy can be used all year round without any side effects. If you need any further information, please contact us via info@aspadirect.com or book your facial treatment at ASPA.

The Top 5 Professional Skin Facial Treatments

How do you choose which skin treatment is best for you? This post should give you more information. Our idea is to help you understand each of the treatments better to be able to make your decision. Whether your skin concern is ageing, hyperpigmentation, acne, or rosacea, to achieve results it is important to consider professional skin treatments in conjunction with home care. ASPA Signiture Facial This is a clinical-strength facial treatments that correct, strengthen, and restore the skin. This experience is completely customisable and usually combinesone or more facial peels suitable for the skin type, facial massage and extractions for maximum ingredient absorption for advanced rejuvenation results. ASPA Signiture Facial is a great option for those looking for a more relaxing treatment. They are ideal for all skin types, including dull skin in need of a boost of hydration, sun-damage control, reducing the severity of acne breakouts, rejuvenating fine lines, or correcting pigmentation. Medical Peels Medical peels can be formulated with many different resurfacing ingredients, but broadly speaking they are designed to revitalise texture by causing the skin to shed cells, promoting firmness and fewer fine lines. This shedding reveals fresh, bright skin and indirectly stimulates collagen production in the dermis. Medical peels are a great option for those wanting to improve skin texture and fine lines, address acne and congested pores, and reduce sun damage and pigmentation. Peels are not one-off treatments and usually require a commitment to a series of at least 3 fortnightly treatments for the best skin results. Regular clinical peels will clear stubborn and problematic skin, and leave your complexion refined, firm, smooth, and bright. Stick with it, the results are phenomenal. What are the best ingredients for peels? Enzyme peels offer many benefits for the skin and are often an entry level peel for someone new to chemical peeling treatments. Enzymes are naturally derived from fruits and plant resources. The best plant-based proteolytic enzymes are papain from papaya and bromelain from pineapple. In terms of AHAs, we offer professional peel treatments that are formulated with lactic, malic and mandelic acid over glycolic acid. This is because lactic, malic and mandelic acids have larger molecules than glycolic acid and are therefore less likely to penetrate the epidermis and cause skin irritation. In addition, these AHA peel agents offer an array of skin benefits, such as lactic acid, as it is a natural skin hydrator and is less likely to cause surface dryness. Salicylic acid, a BHA, is a great peel agent due to its ability to penetrate the pore and reduce inflammation, making it ideal for treating acne. Even sensitive skin will benefit from a low-level salicylic acid peel (5% or less). Kojic acid is known best for its pigment fighting properties and lightening effects, it is used to treat skin conditions such as sun damage, scars and age spots.   IPL treatment (photo facial) Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a type of light therapy used to treat the skin in several ways, including skin tightening, hyperpigmentation and sunspots, fine lines and wrinkles, visible skin redness due to damaged capillaries, and reducing acne breakouts on the skin. The light is attracted to specific target (chromophores) in the skin. A chromophore provides colour to the skin, whether that be red from blood vessels, brown from melanin (skin pigment), or yellow from collagen. IPL can target these areas by penetrating the deeper layers of the skin. Prior to treatment we will recommend you avoid exposure to sunlight in the weeks leading up to your treatment as this can lead to epidermal damage and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) when you have the IPL treatment. To prepare your skin, we will also advise specific skincare products be used 2-4 weeks leading up to your treatment to assist in the best possible treatment result and reduce the risk of PIH. IPL is not advised for darker skin types. Depending on your skin concerns and the area being treated, 4-6 treatments would be recommended for the face and neck. Following the treatment, we will also advise post-care products such, as AZRA Botanical Simplicity Intensive Serum to cool and soothe your skin while supporting the healing process.  Depending on the intensity of treatment, the skin will feel warm and even swollen for a few hours post-treatment, and can be sensitive for a couple of days. Ultimately, these light therapy treatments provide noticeable results and have minimal skin recovery time. Skin microneedling – Meta Therapy & SkinPen Skin microneedling, which is often referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment. A skin needling device creates a controlled injury to the deeper dermis, and though only a fraction of the skin is injured, a significant healing response is triggered to instigate cellular regeneration and collagen production. We offer two different types of microneedling treatments. Meta Therapy is excellent for the overall face, but also can be used for reducing fine lines around the eyes and mouth. SkinPen offers deeper treatments that can produce significant results for acne scarring and Melasma. Depending on the intensity of treatment, downtime can vary but generally a few days of redness and inflammation with minimal side effects can be expected. It is recommended to have a series of 8-10 fortnightly to monthly treatments for optimal results depending on the skin issues. How to prepare skin before a clinical treatment The results of clinical skin rejuvenation treatments, such as chemical peels and laser treatments, can be accelerated and enhanced when used in conjunction with the correct home skincare. This multifaceted approach not only equates to optimum outcomes, but it is also the safest method to adopt. Preparing the skin prior to a peel or laser treatment can reduce post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, optimise cellular function and communication to allow the skin to recover faster and more effectively post-treatment. Before commencing any skin treatments, a detailed consultation is essential. Contact us via info@aspadirect.com Hope to see you at ASPA soon. ASPA Team

What is the best way to remove blackheads?

What are blackheads? Blackheads are immediately recognizable by the small black dots on your nose and/or chin. Many people have them, but what are they really? And more importantly how can you remove blackheads? In this blog I will tell you all about it! Blackheads, also called comedones, are actually blocked pores.  When your pores become clogged by dead skin cells, sebum or dirt, the white or black dots that we call blackheads arise. Also known as blackheads. Most people have blackheads on their forehead, nose and chin. Make no mistake, the little black dots are not the same as pimples. With a pimple there is always an inflammatory reaction and redness is visible. Nevertheless, blackheads can become an inflammation. If the blackhead remains on your skin for too long, the blackheads can still become inflamed and become a pimple. What is the difference between white and black blackheads? Many people think that blackheads are by definition black. However, that is not the case! Blackheads can be either black or white in color. The difference lies in the depth they are found in the skin. Black blackheads are more on the surface of your skin. The black color is not caused by dirt in the pore, but by the reaction of sebum to oxygen. As soon as the blackheads come out more and come into contact with oxygen, you will see a black dot. White blackheads lie deeper in your pore. This is the reason what makes them more difficult to remove than black blackheads. Because white blackheads have not (yet) come into contact with the air, they have a different color. You can often recognize them because they are small white balls under the skin. What is the difference between a blackhead and a pimple? Both blackheads and pimples are clogged pores filled with dead skin cells, sebum and bacteria. The big difference is only that a pimple has become inflamed and completely closed off. Because the sebum and dead skin cells cannot get out, your pimples get bigger and bigger and grow. The inflammatory reaction causes redness and a white head. So keep in mind that blackheads can easily turn into pimples. Do not squeeze blackheads yourself, because when they come into contact with bacteria, they can become inflamed and grow larger. I How do blackheads arise? How blackheads arise is simple. Your pore has become clogged with sweat, dead skin cells, traces of make up, foundation and an excess of sebum. Because this dirt has accumulated, the passage becomes clogged and blackheads arise. This applies to both white blackheads (closed comedones) and black blackheads (open comedones). The cause for the development of blackheads can differ per person. Below you will find the various factors that influence the development of blackheads: 1. Fluctuations in hormones, for example during puberty or pregnancy (increased sebum production) 2. (Bad) nutrition 3. Makeup, especially foundation 4. Aggressive ingredients in skin care products 5. Medicines 6. Medical condition 7. Dry skin (this prevents the sebum from leaving your skin) 8. Stress (increased sebum production) Unfortunately, your skin can also have a predisposition to blackheads, luckily that doesn’t mean that nothing can be done about it. How do I remove blackheads? It can be very tempting to squeeze blackheads yourself, but be careful with this. As with pimples, scars can easily be left behind. In addition, a blackhead can also become irritated or inflamed even worse. That only makes the problem worse. We advise to have the blackheads removed by a skin therapist, so that you can get started with clean skin to prevent those blackheads. OUR TIPS 1. Cleanse your skin with 2 different cleansers- DOUBLE CLEANSING Just cleaning your skin with water is not enough to reduce blackheads. Throughout the day, your skin collects all kinds of dirt. This dirt is a combination of air pollution, makeup, sebum and dead skin cells. This dirt is not only superficial, but also deeper in your skin. By cleaning your skin twice, you first remove the superficial dirt and you already clear the way for your second cleanser. In this way, you ensure that dirt in your pores is loosened and cleaned up every day. In addition, a good cleaning ensures that your pores will clog less quickly and new blackheads arise. We recommend you to use our Double Cleanse by AZRA Botanical Simplicity which we offer for the very special price! 2. Exfoliate your skin regularly Exfoliating is the most effective way to remove skin cells from the top layer of skin. If you quickly suffer from clogged pores, it is important that you regularly exfoliate your skin. Exfoliating your skin removes dead skin cells and accumulations of sebum. This reduces blackheads and prevents new blackheads from developing. Large pores are also less noticeable when your pores are clean. Contact us to recommend you the best exfoliating option for your skin. Are you used to using face scrub on your skin? Then stop that immediately! Scrubs contain hard, coarse particles that damage and irritate your skin. This can actually increase your sebum production and cause (extra) pimples and blackheads. In addition, blackheads are deep in your skin, making scrubbing pointless. Using a peel replaces the use of a scrub, however, the peel don’t do any damage like the scrub does. 3. Get your balance back Blackheads are an indication that your skin is out of balance. Due to an imbalance in your skin, your skin barrier function is also less strong, which increases the chance of skin problems. Whatever skin problem you have, there is no single miracle product that can solve it for you. It is important to have a skin care routine that consists of ingredients that complement and work together. If your skin is well balanced, you prevent an accumulation of dead skin cells and an overproduction of sebum. The first step is to improve the hydration level. 4. Hydration Even though you may think you have hydrated skin, don’t be

Why Did We Make Our Own Skincare Brand?

AZRA Botanical Simplicity

Luxury, natural and science-backed brand made by the skin expert It was my mission to use my experience from the practice in ASPA mixed with my study of plant science and chemistry to make effective plant-based skincare for the real skin needs of the modern woman and man. Products made with all the know-how of the skin expert are really something! Because not all cosmetics are made by experts, although it often seems that way. When I was 25, I got very bad skin overnight. I was living in London at the time and war had just broken out in my native country … I had terrible acne that took me to the doctor. I received medication from him, the complaints disappeared, but my skin became terribly dry. And as soon as I stopped taking the medication, my complaints came back. From that moment on I started to study skincare and nutrition even more. That is where my passion arose and when I was 40, I retrained as a skin therapist. Skincare made in practice To find the best and most effective botanical ingredients for effective skincare, you need to know your business. And that’s what you get if you, as a skin therapist, treat women and men day in day out and provide the right solutions for their skin needs. My philosophy is simple: I formulate products that I personally use, that I am confident will achieve the result I want, with ingredients I know, trust, love, and am deeply proud to share with you. Why is AZRA Botanical Simplicity Different?  Our products combine high-potency, scientific, cosmeceutical active ingredients with refined botanical plant extracts for outstanding long term results. AZRA Botanical Simplicity products are made to simplify skincare routine without sacrificing results, multi-functional skincare! Our mission is to create products unbound by gender, age or time; effective formulas that respect the integrity of skin and provide real results. I studied plant science and worked for many years as the skin therapist, therefore I understand exactly which ingredients function well and work together in skincare routine of different skin types. It became my mission to create a truly effective skincare brand in which high-tech and natural ingredients are combined with not too many ingredients, so that the simple but powerful formulas minimize the chance of irritation. We offer two different types of face cleansers Soothing Cleansing Gel and ALL CLEAN BALM. INTENSIVE SERUM can be used in the morning and evening routine, but our SUPER GLOW SERUM is really only for the morning use. NO RINSE HAND CLEANSER  is effective yet mild on-the-go hand gel from Azra Botanical Simplicity that smells nice thanks to a little bit of peppermint essential oil which has an invigorating aromatherapy function. It will clean your hands, but not dry your hands out. Why not?  It contains an extract of White Water Lily and glycerin which ensure that your hands do not dry out. Comfrey extract, a medicinal herb, protects and conditions. This quick-drying, non-greasy hand gel for in your bag cleans and cares for your hands at the same time.

How do you adapt your skincare to the beautiful weather?

AZRA Botanical Simplicity INTENSIVE SERUM

Do you need to adjust your skincare to the different seasons? We get this question asked very often.  Our answer is: Absolute!! The weather is getting warmer and sunnier again. It’s time to update your skincare! You will be exposing your skin more to the sun in the near future, so that your skin needs other ingredients. And yes, it’s fun to change your routine. It gives you the opportunity to discover new fantastic products. From cold temperatures to sun  You may have noticed that your skin feels very different in the winter than in the summer, but did you also know that you can notice a difference in the transition from winter to spring? Consider, for example, the fact that the heating has been on a lot recently (this gives you dry air in the house). This dry air can really affect your skin by pulling a lot of moisture from your skin. Result? Tight and dry skin. Fortunately, we are now leaving that time behind us. The heating is less necessary, the shower is less hot and we spend more time outside. Does my skin need more moisture in spring/summer? Yes absolutely! We have to replenish the moisture reservoir in your skin to restore your skin and make it resilient for the summer. More on this later, but first I would like to talk about why you should replenish the moisture reservoir of your skin. Where many skin types often needed a little more oiliness in the winter, you can now switch to lighter products based on water (hyaluronic acid). Let’s talk about TEWL (transepidermal water loss). TEWL is the evaporation of moisture from your skin. The degree of evaporation can differ per season, temperature or environmental factors (heating, etc.). We see a big increase in moisture loss in summer and winter. So now is the ideal time to properly replenish your skin’s moisture reservoir. It is important to compensate for this loss of moisture and to attract new moisture from your deeper skin layers. Are you not doing this? Then your skin barrier can be damaged and skin problems (such as acne, dull skin, but also wrinkles) can arise. Our bestseller product for replenishing and restoring the hydration of your skin An important ingredient that can attract moisture is hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance and strengthens the skin barrier (the outer layers of the skin), making your skin feel less dry. In addition, hyaluronic acid is able to bind with moisture. (1000x its own body weight, wow) and that makes your skin feel hydrated. That is why we recommend adding a product with hyaluronic acid in your routine. We recommend INTENSIVE SERUM to many customers, because this has a fine gel-like structure that you can use as a day or night serum -> extra buffer layer between your cleaning care and day / night cream. In addition, it is important to look at how you can actually retain that newly attracted moisture. Because if your outer skin layer is broken, this moisture is lost immediately. As a result, you will still suffer from dry and tight skin. You can do this, among other things, by using a serum with vitamin B. This was the reason why we combined in our INTENSIVE SERUM both hyaluronic acid and vitamin B, so that you need to use one product which has multiple fuction for your skin. Our bestseller treatment for replenishing and restoring the hydration of your skin The PRX-T33 Skin-Booster is a new treatment method intended to improve skin structure and condition quickly and long-term. The most important active components are hydrogen peroxide, TCA and kojic acid. The unique composition of TCA with hydrogen peroxide allows to cross the skin barrier at different speeds at different depths. The aging process is delayed and the skin is revitalized without damaging it. The booster stimulates the skin to renew, allowing us to achieve long-lasting results and restores the complexion and elasticity of the skin. Immediately after the treatment you see an improved complexion and a healthy glow. The booster also stimulates the formation of fibroblasts and growth factors that help to delay the aging process. The skin will tighten and wrinkles and skin folds will be considerably reduced and is more hydrated.
