Neck Treatments at ASPA Beauty Den Haag

prx-t33-before-after3

Why is Your Neck Ageing Faster Than Your Face? 1. The neck has fewer underlying support structures, such as bone and muscle, than the face. This lack of structural support makes the neck more susceptible to gravity’s effects, causing it to droop and lose firmness. 2. The skin on the neck is thinner and more delicate than that on the face. 3. It has fewer oil glands and less collagen, which means it’s naturally more prone to dryness, sagging, and wrinkles as we age. 4. We often skip sunscreen on our necks or neglect to apply anti-ageing products here, it can be even more vulnerable to damage. 5. Our necks are constantly moving—whether it’s turning our heads or looking down at screens. This repetitive motion contributes to the formation of lines and creases over time. Effective treatments to address neck ageing at ASPA Beauty   PRX-T33 & Microneedling Treatment Dual Action for Texture and Tone: While microneedling refines skin texture by tightening and smoothing scars and fine lines, PRX-T33 brightens and evens skin tone. Together, they address multiple skin concerns in a single session. The practice of microneedling creates microscopic wounds on the surface of your skin. This causes your body to deploy a healing response, stimulating collagen and elastin production. As a result, you may see your skin appear fresher, younger, and smoother. Yes, PRX-T33 is known for its skin-tightening effects. The treatment stimulates collagen production, leading to firmer and more elastic skin, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Click here to book.  T- Shape Treatment This is a non-invasive RF technology designed to stimulate collagen production and tighten the skin. By using radio-frequency, laser and vacume suction, T Shape targets the mid-dermal tissue layer, where collagen fibres are abundant. This promotes natural collagen production, leading to firmer and smoother skin over time. One of the significant benefits of T Shape is that it requires minimal downtime, making it an excellent choice for people seeking noticeable results without undergoing surgery. Click here to book.  IPL Treatments IPL treatments, such as fractional laser resurfacing, are highly effective for improving skin texture, tone, and elasticity. By creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin, lasers stimulate the body’s healing processes, leading to new collagen formation and skin rejuvenation. Laser treatments can result in some redness and swelling, but the results are often worth it, offering smoother, firmer skin on the neck. Click here to book.

Spring Skincare Routine

As we transition into spring, we would like to share our expert insights on how to refine our spring skincare routines—what to embrace and what to avoid as the season changes. Do Wear SPF, Rain or Shine No matter the weather (and we know how Dutch Spring can be temperamental!), keeping your skin protected and shielded against the many environmental stressors out there is absolutely crucial to maintaining its health. At ASPA Beauty we offer wide range of SPF products. Do Establish A Consistent Facial Routine Getting regular facials is a great way to unlock the best version of your complexion, as you’ll be getting real advice from genuine experts, who have a level of knowledge that will help you really understand the unique characteristics of your skin and therefore offer the most valuable type of guidance. Don’t Take Too Much Skincare Advice From Social Media Unless it’s an account you fully trust. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to skincare. Don’t Layer Too Much With the change in seasons, it can be tempting to incorporate new steps into your skincare routine, to ensure your skin is adequately prepared to respond to the different temperatures and weather conditions. But I am a huge advocate for not overtreating the skin. Of course, it’s okay to try new ingredients and treatments within your routine, but I would always advise to introduce one active at a time – whether it’s a Retinol, Lactic or Peptide – rather than sandwiching them all on top of each other, which can overwhelm the skin and have an adverse effect. Simplicity is key! Do Double Cleanse Whilst this isn’t something you should reserve only for a certain season, Springtime is when the weather generally improves, and so we spend more and more time outside – where grime really builds up on our skin surface. So, double cleansing – especially at nighttime – is the key to ensuring your skin is fully decontaminated and prepped to absorb the rest of your routine. Do Listen To Your Skin Your skin is very clever at telling you what it needs and everyone’s skin is different, which is why following ingredient trends can often be counterproductive. If your skin is looking good, then keep your routine simple. If it needs extra help, I advise on targeting specific concerns with the right blend of active ingredients: for example, correct peel for brightening any pigmentation or Microneedling for smoothing uneven texture and scarring. Do Adopt Healthy Lifestyle Habits Spring cleaning isn’t just for the home – it’s for your wellbeing too. Clearing out any unhealthy habits from your daily routine and welcoming in nourishing ones are what lie at the core of healthy skin. For example, getting enough sleep and rest, drinking plenty of water, eating a balanced, nutritious diet and exercising enough for your body all contribute to a healthy complexion, even if you don’t think they’re connected. After all, it’s all linked! Don’t Rush Your Skincare Time Springtime is often when social calendars start to go a bit crazy, and it can be very tempting to just rush over your skincare routines if you’re really busy. However, I am a big advocate for taking your time and really enjoying the process of doing your skincare routine. After all, it’s an act of self-care, and we should be fully present in those little moments of joy. We deserve to show up for ourselves, and giving yourself a relaxing atmosphere will make you feel SO good. Don’t Be Scared Of The Signs Of Aging This is quite a hard one, as everyone wants to of course look and feel their best, and a lot of the narrative behind this is to ‘correct’ the signs of aging. But, I would say to focus your efforts more on keeping the skin healthy. If your skin is nice and hydrated, fine lines are less likely to appear and deepen. If you keep your collagen levels up, your skin will be naturally more plump and dewy. If you wear SPF, you are less likely to experience sun spots and pigmentation. All in all, these will promote a more rejuvenated complexion and therefore keep you looking and – more importantly – feeling your best self. I wouldn’t say it’s about not wanting to age, but about not wanting unhealthy skin. Please, contact us on 0651137656 or book directly online. Struggling with Uneven Skin Tone?

Returned from your summer holidays feeling fresh and recharged only to look in the mirror and notice uneven dark ‘freckle-like’ patches that weren’t there before your tan died down? Or, perhaps it’s been a couple of months since you noticed them and they are still rearing their stubborn heads? Sounds like you have hyperpigmentation – which is triggered by excess sun exposure.  If you want to resolve areas of uneven tone and hyperpigmentation, here are our suggestions: What tweakments can work for hyperpigmentation? While hyperpigmentation can be a stubborn skin condition, we recommend you the following treatments to try: IPL: Intensive Pulsating Light ( IPL) is a solution for age spots, sun pigmentation. However, if Melasma (hormonal pigement) is the issue, this might not be the best option. SkinPen Medical Microneedling: Combining the skin-tightening benefits and the collagen-boosting, skin-smoothing effects it can also treat mild sun damage, with limited downtime (1-3 days).  Melasma can also be treated with SkinPen, but in combination with the correct home care routine. What kind of home skincare do you need? We highly recommend the combination of different vitamins and retinol as well as sunscreen SPF50 whole year round. Each skin needs different approach. Remember, skin pigmentation is long term battle and needs to be checked and treated every year. What happens after IPL laser on face? After IPL therapy, you may experience: Slight bruising, burning sensation after the treatment. Age spots and freckles looking darker for the first 3 – 7 days, which is normal. Skin becoming crusty or flaky, which may last 7 – 10 day. It is important to wear SPF50+ every day after IPL treatment. IPL treatment heats up the surrounding tissue and melanin, with a higher risk of burns on darker skin types and due to the heat produced, can actually stimulate and increase the appearance of the darkened pigmentation and is therefore not recommended. Avoid very hot baths, showers, steam baths or saunas, and don’t swim in strong chlorinated water for two or three days. Don’t use bleaching creams or perfume products for 24 to 48 hours. Avoid exfoliating or peels for one week. Try to avoid wearing tight clothing for two or three days. While you heal: Don’t put on makeup if your skin hurts. Use moisturizing lotion. Protect yourself with sunscreen. Make sure it has an SPF of at least 50 and a physical blocker like zinc. Wash your face with cleanser for sensitive skin. We will be in contact after the treatment and we encourage every client to come for a check up after IPL treatments. Please, contact us on 0651137656 or book directly online. Please, follow us on social media for the last minute offers: We are looking forward to welcome you at ASPA soon. Kind Regards, ASPA Team

HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR SKIN AFTER SUN EXPOSURE?

As we are saying bye bye to another summer, let us talk about the impact that sun damage can have on our skin, from wrinkles to pigment spots or even hardening of your collagen. However, no need to worry, at ASPA we have several safe solutions and PRX-T33 biorevitalisation treatment is just one of them which we would like to expain in more details today. How Does a PRX-T33 Work? A PRX-T33 is a biorevitalization treatment primarily comprised of trichloroacetic acid (TCA), Kojic acid, and hydrogen peroxide to rejuvenate the skin without damaging its surface. The hydrogen peroxide prevents the TCA from causing the skin to peel. Instead, it works on the deeper layers of skin, promoting elastin and collagen production and new skin cells. Plus, there’s no recovery or downtime necessary. With PRX-T33, a combination of TCA and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) quickly penetrates the dermis (one of the skin’s layers), activating a process of regeneration without attacking the epidermis (the outer layer of skin). Who Is This Treatment Suitable For? 1. For anyone who does not want to undergo drastic cosmetic treatment and wants to tackle volume loss and the dull tone 2. Suitable for all skin types, including dark and tanned skin 3. Suitable for all age categories 4. Suitable for teenagers with blemishes 5. Skin with pigment 6. Skin with scars 7. Wrinkles Can I do PRX-T33 Every Month? The best results are achieved with a series of 3-5 treatments, performed at intervals of 7-14 days. Depending on the skins needs and to maximise the effects of PRX-T33, we recommend combining this treatment with microneedling.   We highly recommend a series of 4 treatments or until you see the maximum level of tightening, then you can schedule maintenance treatments between 6-12 months depending on your age and skin concerns. Results last an average of 6 months depending on patient, lifestyle, area treated, skin concern addressed, etc. We highly recommend PRX-T33 & Microneedling in combination for the treatment of large pores, skin firmness, depressed scars and hyperpigmentation associated with acne. If you would like more information, please contact us via info@aspadirect.com or 0651137656. Kind Regards,

WHY IS VITAMIN C ESSENTIAL FOR SKIN AND WHAT ROLE DOES VITAMIN C

Dear ASPA friends & clients, At ASPA we are very big on use on vitamin C topically as well as the nutritional supplement. Here is why we highly recommend you to include vitamin C serum in your weekly skincare routine as well liposomal vitamin C in your daily nutritional uptake. Collagen formation Studies indicate that vitamin C is required for the manufacture of the  collagen and stabilise the messenger molecules that encode proteins for the repair of damaged skin. So not only does vitamin C enhance stability of the structure of skin, it also enhances its repair process. Photo-protection UV light exposure decreases the vitamin C content within skin and therefore exposure to the sun suggests greater vitamin C will need to be replenished. So Vitamin C should be worn in the summer months, followed by a high factor SPF.  Protects against and treats skin prone to pigmentation  Vitamin C visibly brightens and improves an uneven skin tone. Vitamin C has also been shown to inhibit the synthesis of melanin, skin’s pigment. It does this through a variety of mechanisms and so could prove to be valuable in the treatment of melasma and skin prone to pigmentation. Photo-damage, fine lines and wrinkles Ageing of skin can be thought of as two processes; natural ageing caused simply by the passage of time and environmental ageing as a result of pollutants, UV radiation and lifestyle factors. Observational studies have found that increasing vitamin C intake from the diet resulted in better skin appearance and less wrinkling. Topical applications of vitamin C for 12 weeks were shown to decrease wrinkling, reduce protein fibre damage, reduce roughness of skin and increase collagen production. Dry skin Many people will experience dry skin at some stage in their lives. The effects of vitamin C are not clear however increasing dietary intake of vitamin C has been correlated with a decreased risk of dry skin. Studies indicate that vitamin C enhances the production of barrier lipids, called ceramides, which protect skin against water loss.   Super Glow Serum  ALTRIENT Vitamin C Supplement Kind Regards, ASPA Team

3 IMPORTANT REASONS TO WEAR SUNSCREEN DAILY

We have all heard that it is important to wear sunscreen for skin protection, but do you know the specific reasons why? Even on cloudy days which we have a lot this summer, our skin is susceptible to the sun’s rays which can lead to skin cancer, pigmentation issues, and wrinkles over time. Prevent the Signs of Aging The best and cheapest anti aging advice is to wear sunscreen! Repeated sun exposure with little to no protection can cause damage to your elastin, collagen and skin cells. Over time, this can lead to premature signs of aging including pigmentation, wrinkles, fine lines, and a leathery appearance. Our SUNSCREEN SPF50+ contains a combination of chemical filters that provide very high protection against UVA and UVB sun rays. Chemical filters have been selected that do not weigh down the skin, and among them you will not find nanoparticles and octrocrylene. Panthenol (B5), propanediol and glycerin are excellent moisturizing ingredients that prevent the skin from drying out and provide several hours of skin hydration. Chamomile extract, green tea extract , coenzyme Q10 and vitamin E in the product perform an antioxidant function. They protect cells from free radicals, accelerate skin regeneration and help maintain the skin’s youthful appearance. Reduce Your Risk of Skin Cancer Using sunscreen each day, even when it is cloudy, is one of the best ways to prevent skin cancer. If you are spending prolonged time outdoors or will be in the water, you should reapply your sunscreen every two hours, do not forget to cover your head and wear long sleeves. Use a cream with a UV protection factor every day, regardless of the season. Always apply the product immediately before exposure to the sun. Be aware, that even when you use a product to protect against the sun, it does not offer 100% protection, so do not stay in the sun for too long, avoid the sun when it is strongest and use other protective means (glasses, headgear, clothing…). Prevent Skin Pigmentation It can be difficult to live with areas of skin pigmentation, especially when they appear later in life. These areas of pigmentation are often called “sun spots” or “liver spots” and are usually tan to brown in color. They often develop on the face, head, hands, and arms, and can affect both men and women. Applying sunscreen periodically throughout your day can help prevent these spots from appearing on your skin. Apply the product in the last step of your skincare routine (after using a serum or face cream) and just before sun exposure. Repeat the application throughout the day and in sufficient quantity, especially after bathing, sweating or wiping with a towel. Follow the “two finger rule” to cover the skin of the face and neck to ensure adequate protection. Reduce Inflammation When our skin is exposed to UV rays it can cause painful redness and inflammation. This can be especially challenging for individuals with skin issues like psoriasis or rosacea. Wearing sunscreen each day helps to prevent inflammation from harmful rays. If you are prone to redness and have sensitive skin, look for a sunscreen with gentle ingredients such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. You should also avoid spray-on sunscreens as these can contain harsh formulas, including alcohol that can dry out the skin. Our SUNSCREEN SPF50+ is free of octocrylene, nanoparticles, denatured alcohol, added fragrances and dyes. Dermatologically proven not to cause skin irritation. Suitable for vegans, pregnant women and nursing mothers.
